It’s no secret that over the past ten years, blogging has grown exponentialy in popularity with people of all ages. In today’s day and age, blogging can be done from computers, mobile tablets, and even cell phones. The possibilities for subject matter are endless.
But, how does one start a blog? It’s easy, whether you’re a newcomer or a blogging veteran.
There are many blogging services out there today, the post popular being WordPress and Blogger. Both offer free blogging options, as well as paid options that allow for a little more customization. You can even purchase a domain name from a site such as GoDaddy.com and give you a blog a specific Web address.
There’s no limit to what you can blog about. Social media, writing, sports, politics, celebrity news and gossip, the Internet (and the millions of blogs that make up a part of it) offers a home for whatever you feel like talking about. The first thing to consider after you’ve made the decision to start a blog, is to decide what you will use it for. Aside from the subjects already mentioned, blogs can be used as personal diaries, trip journals, and even an online/electronic scrapbook of sorts.
Here’s a brief list of some of the blogging sites out there for your use:
- WordPress
- Blogger
- Tumblr
- LiveJournal
- Open Diary
The last two on the list offer the ability to keep the entries private so only you can read them, or you have the option to let others using the site read them as well.
If you have interests and opinions and you like expressing them, the world of blogging may be for you.
